Seasonal Tips
These summertime tips will help you to keep your home cooler and system operating at optimal efficiency.
- Change your filters monthly.
- Plant trees or shrubs to shade your outside unit. Make sure not to block air flow.
- Have a programmable thermostat installed. This allows you to adjust your cooling settings at night and when no one is home.
- Have an attic fan installed. An attic fan gets rid of trapped super hot air that tends to collect in attics and cause heat to back up into the home.
- Make sure the fireplace damper is tightly closed.
- Check your ductwork. If you see holes or separated duct joints call us to repair.
- Caulk and install weather stripping to keep cool air in.
- Install shades, drapes or blinds to reflect heat away from the house.
- Apply reflective films to uncovered and south-facing windows.
